Tawang is a place located in the northeastern state of India in Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang is one of the places blessed with natural beauty. Tawang is famous for Tawang monastery, Pankang Teng Tso Lake, Tawang war memorial, R.R Hill and many other beautiful places.

Tawang Monastery :
The Tawang Monastery is a Buddhist monastery located in the town of Tawang. It is one of the largest and most important monasteries of the Mahayana sect of Buddhism in Asia. The monastery was built in the 17th century by the Mera Lama Lodre Gyatso, who is said to have had a divine vision of the monastery's location.

Tawang Buddha Statue :
Once you reach Tawang you can see the giant statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. It is situated near the Tawang circuit on the small hill and also offers beautiful views. This is the tallest Buddha in that region.
