The bow (also written as bow, foremost, and corresponding to Bow in English) is the front part of the ship. The corresponding rear end of the ship is called the stern (or stern, stern). The shape of the bow needs to consider reducing the resistance of the ship in the water. For example, a bulbous bow can reduce the impact of waves. However, ships with lower hulls (such as liquid cargo ships) often adopt a more rounded design to maximize cargo capacity. The bow needs to have a certain height to prevent water from splashing onto the deck. Otherwise, not only will the deck become slippery, but the corrosiveness of seawater may corrode the metal of the hull. When the temperature is too low, it will also cause the deck to freeze, increasing the weight of the hull.
