DON'T Diagnose Sepsis Like This!

Описание к видео DON'T Diagnose Sepsis Like This!

An infectious diseases specialist explains what sepsis is and how it is diagnosed in acute care. Which scoring system should you use? How does SIRS compare to qSOFA? What are the most dangerous mistakes in the diagnosis of sepsis? In this video, you will learn how the definition of sepsis changed in 2016 and what this means for our everyday practice. More importantly, you will learn about the dangerous limitations of qSOFA. More and more research articles show that this scoring system isn't nearly as helpful as intended. Clinical reasoning doesn't have to be complicated, but it cannot be condensed into something as trivial as qSOFA. If you are a student or a junior doctor and want to learn how to approach a patient with a suspected infection, I strongly recommend you follow the link to my series of lectures on this topic. You will get the basics right, and what you learn in this course will help you make the best possible decision in any clinical setting.
