Hurricane Beryl strengthened on Monday into a "potentially catastrophic" category 5 storm after making landfall in the south-east Caribbean as a category 4. The hurricane is strengthening as it travels towards Jamaica. Fuelled by warm waters, Beryl brings an unusually fierce and early start to this year's Atlantic hurricane season.
