تمتلك عمان الاحتياط الأكبر من الأسماك في العالم لما تتميز به من سواحل يصل طولها إلى 3.165 كم، تضم 150 نوع من الأسماك، بالإضافة إلى امتلاكها أكبر مصيد سنوي في منطقة الخليج العربي. وتعد الخطوة الأهم التي حققتها السلطنة في قطاع الزراعة والثروة السمكية هي بدأ الاستثمار بنحو1.3 مليار دولار أمريكي في هذا القطاع، وتوفير فرص جديدة.

With 3,165 kilometers of coastline and 150 species of fish and crustaceans, Oman’s fish reserves are among the largest in the world. Our annual catch is the biggest in the Arabian Gulf. Indeed, the government’s commitment of more than US$1.3bn by 2020 in the sultanate’s agriculture and fisheries sector is the latest step in a series of investments that are laying the groundwork for growth in the sector and opening the door for new opportunities for private businesses.
