I took a vote on what song next to do in Spicy Demons Discord and people voted for Phobos Base. Next song might be another while away, but I have a very underrated song in mind.


As for this one: You've already noticed it's quite short. It only plays in one part of the campaign (the very opening to Mars Core, not counting the cutscene). Much like BFG10k, it doesn't show up in any part of the campaign or dlc ever again.
This unfortunately also means that making a unique sounding mix was not really a option. I found out the hard way that the three common parts are a minute long each, meaning that I couldn't spice things up as much as I wanted to. Better luck next time...

Fun fact: due to modders cracking the game open, we now know that Phobos Base is the 'ambient combat' or 'medium combat' track, and that BFG10k is the combat or heavy combat track. They're the same song in the files, but obviously tempo's and style do not line up completely.





note: I didn't mix the music, this is how the files are in-game. There is still a bit of compression due to the music extractor and Youtube.
