Autumn Peltier was born into this world on September 27th 2004 and she is an Anishinaabe Indigenous Youth Clean Water Advocate, from the unceded lands of Wiikwemkoong Unceded Indian Rserve, on Manitoulin Island, in Ontario, Canada. Autumn is currently the Chief Water Commissioner for the Aniishnabek Nation and has been called: a "water warrior". In 2018, at the age of thirteen, Autumn addressed world leaders at the UN General Assembly, on the issue of water protection. Much of Autumn's inspiration and early knowledge comes from her mother (Stephanie) and her great-aunt, Josephine Mandamin, a well-known activist for clean water.
