if you enjoy your Emmrich, please do. Let me be please. I won't be romancing him again. Gameplay wise, I picked Mourn Watch rook and I was disappointed it didn't bring any gameplay features. Like when you get Emmrich you can call for whisps? Why could my rook not do that? I am pretty sure it is one of the first things they learn. Mourn Watch Rook: DaemonI didn't feel any connection to Emmrich or his romance. His way of talking to Rook during a romance reminds me more of a teacher talking to a student. His compliments during fights make me feel like a teacher commenting on my assignments. The game and Emmrich always focusing on Rooks' age? Annoying. Especially when I don't care about age gap between them. Daemon is supposed to be 31 and Emmrich treats him like he is barely legal. I am sorry, I don't like this romance. He is the best romance in the veilguard, but he will never be better than Fenris, Zevran or Alistair or anyone else from earlier Dragon Age games.I struggle to put Emmrich even in top 5. A forced argument in the end of the game, where Rook calls Emmrich insecure and storms off is stupid. Emmrich wishing to apologize is stupid. The intimacy in the graveyard... I never vibed with people sexualizing graveyard or resting places like that.I don't like how my young rook calls a man in his early 50's "adorable" and "cute". He is a grown man, a senior by age and position. Although Emmrich does act too young for his age multiple times. Childish excitement about necromancy and death is unnerving to me. I do enjoy gloom and sadness, but this is borderline for me.
