Making the Notorious Vogue 1940s Hat (7464 B)

My husband always says, "If you want to get a-head, get a hat!" Well, I want to get ahead and make a hat or two for my 1930s and 1940s outfits (and who doesn't want a fancy hat or two?)

I came across this pattern when I was looking at vintage patterns in Spotlight (and it's still available for home delivery if you want one: https://www.spotlightstores.com/sewin... ) [and no, I'm not affiliated with Spotlight in any way]. I thought the hat looked very interesting, but the instructions and the pattern had me completely flummoxed.
