Today, we are in Montego Bay where most tourists arrive in Jamaica. . Montego Bay is the most popular and well-known destination for tourism in Jamaica due to the proximity to the airport, excursions and other things to do. Montego Bay is often chosen by tourists for quick getaways since the travel time can be very short from the airport if desired.

Montego Bay is also home to a vibrant nightlife, with a variety of bars and clubs that offer live music, dancing, and delicious cocktails. This city is also known for its delicious cuisine, with a variety of restaurants that offer traditional Jamaican dishes as well as international cuisine.. Here are some of the top date night restaurants you should check out when travelling to Montego Bay.

Here is our list in no specific order
1. Houseboat Grill floats on the lagoon in Freeport right across from the cruiseport in Montego Bay. Take a ride over and eat fresh lobster that you can choose from their lobster trap under the deck. (Please remember that lobster season is from July 1st to March 31st yearly) . Both Indoor and outdoor seating are very limited so don’t forget to make reservations.

2. Marguerites This upscale seafood restaurant is located on the hip strip in Montego Bay overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and is known for its breathtaking sunset views. It offers a mix of Jamaican and international cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating.


3. Mystic Thai – is a small restaurant in the Fairview plaza. A wide selection of both Thai and Indian specialities are served daily. Some of the seating is divided by curtains creating a private dining experience for couples or small groups.

4. Sugar Mill Half Moon - This upscaled open-air restaurant is a popular spot for authentic Jamaican food as well as international cuisine. It's a great place to enjoy some delicious food and soak up the local culture. If you want your date to be special, this is the place to book!

5. Delmare, It’s Italia, North Point and other options at Half Moon offer seaside dining. The standards are very high at Half Moon so regardless of your dining choices, you can be rest assured that the service and food will be exceptional.

6. Pier One - This restaurant is located in the heart of Montego Bay. They offer a menu of classic Jamaican dishes as well as international favorites. They also have a very popular dance club/bar. Check with your tour guide on the best nights to go.


7. Uncorked West is an addition to the two popular locations in Kingston. They have a wide variety of food options and boast a large collection of wine. This location has indoor/air conditioned seating only.

8. East Japanese has one location in Montego Bay to go with their very popular chains in Kingston Jamaica. They have a wide variety of sushi and other Japanese cuisine to choose from. This sushi is made to order fresh so you can easily eliminate any items you don’t like.


9. Round hill is a beachfront restaurant that is just outside of Montego Bay. This restaurant is usually busy with hotel guests and often limits outside guests. Their top tier service and food attract travellers from around the world.

10. Bellefield is on the greathouse property. Well known chef Robbie Joseph leads this team of delicious food and excellent service. They aren’t open daily so call ahead.
