Music from the Barren Wasteland: Lung Overcoat were a post-punk band from San Antonio, Texas. The roots of the group formed in 1981 under the name Platform of Youth. By '83 they changed their name and released a 7" single "Internal Silence/Past Lives" on their own Scolex label. In the mid '80s they released the "Climbing Up the Hill" EP and a couple of compilation tracks including "Find the Time" on the C'est la Mort label. After several lineup changes they called it quits in 1987.
