Hi everyone! My name is Dan, and I am a veterinarian.

Today and I talking about dog dewormers. Deworming your dog can be hard and confusing sometimes. It is always a good idea to have your veterinarian complete a fecal exam to diagnose the actual parasites.

I went to tractor supply with my daughter the other day, and we had a look at all the deworming medications in their store. I picked three dewormers at random to review today. There are many intestinal worms that a dog can get, but today I am going to focus on the four most common GI parasites: Roundworms, whipworms, tapeworms, and hookworms. The goal for any dewormer is to treat the parasite that your dog has, so the over the counter dewormers will try to cover as many worms as possible which include the four most common GI parasites.

Deworming a dog should be done to treat a GI parasites, and just like heartworm medications a veterinarian my prophylactic deworm. The goal is to keep parasites out of the dog and out of the house.
