Well, well, well it looks like some of you dont mind these longer form videos. This is the new longest length release….

We accept that a lot of Wing Chun students are tribal.... but if you find yourself 'begrudgingly' feeling that the content is okay, or even interesting! why not take a 'brave' step further and 'like' it.

Even we need some encouragement to feed the monster of 'Social Media'.

So... Here is the first few minutes from Pt4 from our current Live #ukwckfa Zoom presentations on #wingchun #ChiSau training.

This extract discusses the idea that the most important attributes in martial art training are:

Distance Judgement
Timing
Experience

These universal attributes should be applied in your Chi Sau as much as they are in your free hand Gworr Sau. If you dont try to actively develop these attributes, you are essentially just playing pat a cake.

To make truly transfererabe skills from the forms to Chi Sau to fightng you have to train these qualities in a focussed manner with intent to learn.

Everybody loses focus for split seconds, people can be made to be distracted and stressed. It is for you to develop the 'touch' and instinct to know when to use this to your advantage.

You can't train soft to fight hard, it is in fact the opposite. What is difficut is keeping it safe and emotionally controlled. You are still training not fighting.

In this clip, James Sinclair is simply teaching a Zoom session. As the session progresses he demonstrates more and more pressure training and discusses the ideas in far more depth.
