President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said that the removal of fuel subsidy is already yielding positive results in Abia State and across the country, as it has enabled state governments to undertake key development projects.

He made this known on Friday during a one-day official visit to Abia state, where he was represented by the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi.

The President acknowledged that the policy attracted criticism from some Nigerians who argued that adequate cushioning measures were not put in place, but maintained that the decision remains vital for national growth. 

He also urged the people of the south-east to unite and work together for peace, progress, and development.

In his remarks, Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, commended President Tinubu for his bold initiatives, describing them as steps geared toward ensuring peace, stability, and prosperity for the nation.
