Dr. Ashish Jha, dean of Brown University’s school of public health, warns that the new, highly contagious strain of the coronavirus “will wind up infecting so many more people that the total number of people who get sick and die will be much worse.” He tells TODAY that in light of the slow vaccination rollout, proposals to administer half doses of the Moderna vaccine or to delay second doses of it are “worth at least exploring.”
