Written in 1924, this was first a big hit for Louis Armstrong and Ted Lewis on stage - Eddie Cantor gave it his spin - Doris Day does a short version in Love Me or Leave Me. This one is dressed up with a LOT of production - horns galore - it's the flip side of L. David Sloane (#52 Billboard, #60 Cashbox)and not on this LP.
Michele was in a few hit Broadway shows (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying and See Saw) and a forgettable piece from 1962 (Bravo Giovanni) and she had pipes, just not the luck to catch on with the public. She was on variety shows and sang but her career went into a 'Love' spin - The Love Bug, Love Boat and several Love, American Styles before she had one season of her own show in 1974, right behind her Tony nom for Seesaw. Evidently Giovanni also had some Tony noms but I can't remember a single song.
You'll know her from Knots Landing as her longest tv stint and here she is early to mid-career. Thanks for listening - No rights given or implied - just posting for knowledge.
