Tyne and Wear Metro Birthday Special: A look at Metrocar 4001

Описание к видео Tyne and Wear Metro Birthday Special: A look at Metrocar 4001

This video shows you the Tyne and Wear Metro Prototype Metrocar 4001 from Pelaw to Monkseaton showing the new livery showing all the liverys used from when the Metro started in 1980 except for the green livery that was also used but not displayed.
This video was filmed on the Tyne and Wear Metro's 40th anniversary on August 11th 2020, yesterday.
The end clip says: "read description for more information". This is because we had to de-train from 4001 due to a fault with the door.
When the train stops at a station, the lights on the door light up and you can choose to open the door of you need to.
Once all doors are shut, a bell in the cab should ring. When the doors closed on the train, there was no bell. the door shut with no problems but when the driver unlocked the doors to allow passengers to press the button, the door opened on its own without any sort of button being pressed; that door shouldn't have opened unless requested by pressing the button.
So the train was cancelled and was taken straight back to South Gosforth Depot for a clean and a fix.
4001 shouldn't be out on the network for quite some time.
Please note at 3:43, it is mentioned that the drivers did not know about the graffiti, they did know.
Thanks for watching!
