Rudra Veena is said to be the fundamental instrument of Indian Classical Music, also we are aware about the story of creation of Rudra Veena which involves Lord Shiva & Maata Parvati. But today we will talk about certain modifications made in this instrument, which is Spring Frets. This type of mechanism was basically invented by my great grand father Shree Bapulal Chhotalal Mistri. The Advantage of this type of frets is that it does not get affected by weathre and minor tuning is quite easy where as with wax fitted frets its not possible and frets tied with thread might loosen up with time. This Rudra Veena is specially made for one of our client situated in London; Mr. Cana Rochbell. This Rudra Veena was made over the period of 9 months, all the parts used in veena are gift of mother nature, it is polished with french polish. The bridge of this Rudra Veena bears the carving of leaves instead of peacock. This type of Rudra Veena is made almost after 80 years by us. This type of fret mechanism was used for Inayat Khan Sufi’s Saraswati Veena. The design on this Rudra Veena is inspired from the design of an old Rudra Veena made by my great grand father, although it was in ivory, this type of design gives unique and authentic look to the Veena. This type of Spring Mechanism is good for foreign clients as they can easily minor tune the instrument. Toon wood has been used to make the daand of the veena. the frets are hand made and also are shaped manually by hammer so as to maintain the structural rigidity. Bridge is made up of Sacred Sevan Wood. This Instrument has been made with utter precision, love, passion & care.

Mr. Cana Rochbell loved our work and he gladly appreciated it through social media ad other websites too, links to them will be mentioned here.
