DAWless setup: Behringer 2600 Blue Marvin, Korg MS-20 (mini), Korg ModWave, Behringer Solina, Behringer Model D, KeyStep Pro (MIDI and clock for eurorack modules), Midas DM16 mixer, Tascam DR-40 for recording.

Eurorack modules: Vermona Melodicer, MakeNoise Morphagene, Qu-Bit Nautilus, CalSynth Rangoon, CalSynth Monsoon, Instruo 0chd, and the Doepfer A-138s as an output mixer.

Effect chains: Strymon TimeLine into TC Electronics Hall of Fame into Strymon Mobius (2600 Blue Marvin), Meris Polymoon is on mixer AUX1, TC Electronics Hall of Fame is on mixer AUX2. The Model-D and MS-20 are being sent to AUX2. The eurorack output mixer is being sent to AUX1. The Soma Cosmos is being use to loop the ModWave sounds.

There's too much modulation here to list. I'm using all eight LFO on the Intruo 0chd to modulation all kinds of things.

I enjoyed making this Berlin School Ambient improvisation. So much so, time got away from me and I didn't even realize how much until I looked at the recorder and saw it was already twenty minutes! Shew. I love this setup. So much more to learn about it and how to use all the modules and such, but a hell of a good time using them. I could have easily gone on another twenty minutes or more. There are lots of ways to make things evolve over time with this setup. I can keep changing arpeggios, notes from the Melodicer, dissolving loops, and modulation within the modules forever.

I'd like to do this again, but I need to try and change the sound design first. Maybe next week. It isn't exactly generative, but I can't say it isn't either. There are some genuinely generative parts to it. I kind of wish I had more active multiples so I could get all the instruments to synch up with the melody from the Vermona Melodicer. I might even be able to get some chords our of it with the 0chd in audio rates. I've read that it's made for that. Time will tell.

Some lessons learned... I need to spend a lot more time learning about chords and the "circle of fifths". Even when playing one note at a time, I see how important they both are to giving you what next note will sound good with the last. I can see that evolving the pseudo melody over time would really benefit from this. Someone also suggested I transpose things over time as well. I've been working on that, but haven't used it yet. Just within a single MIDI sequence rather than the way I want to. I just need to focus on that for a bit longer.
