Toxic family dynamics can lead to years of lies.
Years of lies can turn into pathological lies that a family keeps to protect each other from the truth.
In other families, family lies can become an automatic process by which the family member speaks before they think (i.e., impulsively) and a lie comes out.
Very dysfunctional families sometimes live their lives based lies that just keeps recycling in a pattern until another family member identifies it and stops it.
Family lies within a toxic family dynamic can happen for many reasons -- so many reasons that one conversation isn't enough.
In this live chat, I discuss the psychology of a family of lies.
