Today is Ride Day 5 of my North East Solo Trip! Today is the most exciting day of my visit to Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh. In the previous vlog, you have seen that I rode to Sangetsar Lake aka Madhuri Lake. Today, it's time to ride to the extreme end of India. Today, I am riding to Bumla Pass, which is located at 15,200 ft above sea level.

Today I started from Tawang, via PT Tso lake and at the Y junction, made a right turn towards Bumla Pass. This journey towards Bumla Pass is like no other. I was lucky to actually ride my bike to India China Border. It was literally goosebumps!

The Bum La Pass is a border pass between Tibet's Cona County and India's Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh. It is 37 km away from the India-administered town of Tawang and 43 km from the China-administered Tsona Dzong town in Cona County in Tibet. The pass currently serves as a trading point between Tawang and Tibet. It is also an agreed Border Personnel Meeting point for the security forces of China and India.

Visit by civilian tourists of India is permissible with permission from the Indian Army. The track is very treacherous, only SUVs advisable, and that too only on clear weather day with no snowfall or rainfall.

A special permit is required to visit Bum La Pass. The Permits can be requested at the Office of the Deputy Commissioner in Tawang District, and the same has to be stamped in the Indian army cantonment of Tawang. Without the army stamp, visitors will not be allowed through the numerous check posts on the way.
