This week Jeremy Bumpus walks us through this 1929 Ford Model A restoration. Restored at his shop, The Hot Rod Shop, in Corinth, MS, this project has been ongoing since 2017! The covid pandemic brought the parts supply to a standstill which caused it to take much longer than expected.

The owner requested that we not modify the drivetrain, which was in pretty decent shape when we got it. However, we cleaned it up so that it fit the rest of the restoration.

We started with a custom 2 tone paint job. When we got the car it was white and black and we went with this olive green color to really make it pop!

From there we did custom upholstery and the interior. One cool feature on this project is the original 1929 steering wheel. We did not plan to keep it, but since we couldn't get a new one, it ended up being a tribute to the original car.

We also put together the convertible top the same way that Henry Ford did in 1929 so that it had an authentic feel. This included hand stitched and hand stuffed padding.
