Sydney Metro Bankstown conversion, how we'll keep Sydney moving

🚇 The city extension of Metro to Sydenham will open in the coming months, providing a fast, frequent connection through our CBD, and out to Chatswood.

🚌 When the City section of Metro opens, we’ll give the new service a bit of time to bed in before we start work on the extension from Sydenham to Bankstown. Buses will replace trains during that 12 month conversion. This will be disruptive, and unfortunately slower. But it will be temporary, and a better rail service is coming. When the work is complete, every station along the line will see a fast and reliable metro service every four minutes.

6️⃣ The T6 is back. Now it’ll link Bankstown to Lidcombe, where you can change for trains to the Sydney CBD or Parramatta.

3️⃣ The new T3 will provide a direct service from areas like Regents Park to the city, and onto Liverpool.

It’s a lot to take in, and a lot of these changes will be incredibly disruptive.
However, there’s still plenty time before all of changes kick into gear. You can read more about the upcoming changes and plan your future commutes here: transportnsw.info/southwestlink
