Hands down one of my all-time favorite bands EVER! Nothing beats Pantera, especially ole' school Pantera! Primal Concrete Sledge is a very underrated track, with the meter shifting off-beat style power this song displays. Most of this song is a 4/3 polyrhythm with sixteen notes being played on the kick and off beat notes on the hats. I'll be honest, it's an odd track to get down with the timing and feels weird playing it at times. To be able to get down the groove, I had to sort of zone out the rhythm guitar and listen more of the vocals. It's hard to describe, but it's weird. I guess my crazy brain works like that. Then we get to the middle of the track, with the ride bell and double kick pattern that makes the hair stand on my arm! Nothing about this track was easy, but I gave it a whirl.
