The Apex Body Leh has announced it will no longer engage with the Ministry of Home Affairs’ High Powered Committee (HPC) until peace and normalcy return to the region.

Leaders Thupstan Chewang and Chering Dorjay confirmed they will skip both the preparatory talks and the HPC meeting scheduled for October 6. They emphasized that “talks cannot happen at gunpoint,” highlighting ongoing tensions in Ladakh.

The body has also demanded the release of all detainees, withdrawal of cases, and an end to the narrative branding Ladakhis as anti-national. They expressed hope that the Kargil Democratic Alliance will support their stance.
