Blasting off into outer space, our hero rides a rocket. Climbing through the atmosphere, he rises into the unknown. Elton John wrote a song about it. The Bearded Man was trying to test a hypothesis. Could he, through sheer speed alone, escape his love for a certain someone? With enough momentum, could he leave her gravity just like leaving the atmosphere of our tiny planet? Only one way to find out: sneak aboard a space shuttle and pray that the weight of his beard wouldn’t upset the fragile balance that infinite calculations were based on. Mission accomplished. She packed his bags last night, pre-flight, but he was already gone. He was trippin’ the space fantastic, living in Earth’s orbit for 6 months. Once the crew found out they had a stowaway (and realizing there was nothing they could do about it for a very long time), they decided to put him to work. You wouldn’t believe how boring and tedious space work is. It’s mind-numbingly terrible. Still, it was all worth it for the view. What. A. View. You might have already forgotten, but he didn’t. And no, he never stopped thinking about the girl.
