The beneficiaries are not required to pay any fees for the training.
The Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy program that provides financial assistance to people who want to start new businesses. The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) is the nodal agency that implements the scheme nationally.
PMEGP loans range from Rs 9.5–50 lakh. The maximum project cost for the manufacturing sector is Rs 50 lakh, and Rs 20 lakh for the business/service sector. The beneficiary contributes 5–10%, and the bank provides the remaining 90–95%.
PMEGP loans are collateral free for projects costing up to Rs 10 lakh. For projects costing more than Rs 5 lakh and up to Rs 25 lakh, the CGTSME provides a collateral guarantee.
