Top tip - you 100% need to go in dry season and the height of summer, so between Jan and April. We had an amazing time but the weather really took the shine off things.

Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro Brazil is touted as extremely dangerous, but we found it to be extremely friendly, good vibes and somewhere that we would relax at all day long.

Christ the Redeemer is a place that can be dangerous. DO NOT WALK up there and make sure you do a trip. If you get an uber up there you will have to take a local taxi down and this will cost you 4* the actual price. Not my words - the words of Marco our tour guide and Rio local!

Any country in the world can be dangerous and I think Rio gets a bad name. We didn't personally have any trouble and there are loads of police near the beach. Keep your phone safe and you DO NOT need any cash as everywhere takes card.
