Program Highlights

•Students engage in meaningful assignments in the first semester that allow them to explore the broad field of early childhood and consider a career path.
•Courses are hands-on, interactive, and allow students to practice skills and develop dispositions required for the field.
•Expert faculty who are actively involved in professional organizations and stay current with the latest research and practices in the field.
•Two lab schools on campus: a child development center with observation booths for students to conduct observations and assessments, and a daycare program for children ages birth – school age.
•Students who are enrolled in an on-campus practicum or internship at one of our two EC lab schools are able to design curricula and conduct field trips that use SUNY Cobleskill's abundant campus facilities, including our dairy barn, equestrian center, art gallery, children's library, greenhouses, fish hatcheries.
•Because we've established Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with other colleges, students who complete their BS degree here are guaranteed placement in those institutions' graduate programs. Read more about MoUs in the accordion below.
