How's it going neighbors This is Ed here with etrailer.com and today we're taking a look at the Shocker Hitch Air Cushioned Gooseneck Coupler. Now this is gonna allow you to hook up up to 30,000 pounds and get a more relaxing ride. So let's take a closer look and see what's special about it. What's special about the Shocker Hitch is the fact that you have this airbag on the rear and that's gonna help absorb a lot of what you feel as you go down the road. So if you're pulling maybe a horse trailer or something with livestock in it, this is going to ensure that your animals are gonna have a much more relaxing ride so you don't have to worry about 'em. You know, just getting all nervous from all the jolting.

Also, it makes for a better ride for you as the driver because you're gonna have all the bushings and cushion that gives you a smoother experience. Right here you do have a Schrader valve where you can adjust your air pressure. You have to keep a minimum of five, and it's a maximum of 15 PSI in order to keep your bag maintained. Shocker does a really good job of making sure your coupler tube is, your inner tube is gonna work for just about any application. It's set up for a 4" or 100 millimeter.

You're actually gonna have wider holes on the side for your retention pin to give you a little bit room as far as making that final adjustment when you're pulling into your bed. The combination between the three pinholes you have here and the oblong holes that you're gonna have right here that go into your outer tube, is going to give you between 10 and 30 degrees worth of adjustment. And as you know, when you're backing up to get hooked up for one of these guys, if you don't have a camera or a spotter, that makes it a lot easier for you to dial it in for those last few inches. In this particular setup, for example, we just put it in the lowest, but you definitely wanna make sure that you're as flush as possible as you can be with the bottom of the ball mount. You also can maintain your Shocker Hitch by using your grease circuit here to keep all the moving parts lubricated and within your manual, they'll tell you what type of grease you can use.

Now as far as releasing and keeping everything retained, you're gonna have this latch here that comes with a pen where you'll be able to lock into place and you can pin it up right here or opposite as far as opening it up to make sure you're ready for your next adventure. All right, taking a look directly in our coupler, you can see this guy comes pre-greased, so you don't have to worry about this pivot point not being lubricated, and you can get a little bit of look of the action as far as the lock and unlock release lever. Getting beyond just how it makes me feel and how it feels in my hand. I mean, Shocker Hitch does a great job of being a American company that makes a quality product that you can trust and not have to worry about. Now, getting down to some of the specs on it, this guy's rated right at 30,000 pounds.

You have 7,000 pounds of tongue weight. Also, you're gonna be able to take advantage of a 3" offset, so that's gonna allow you to have a little bit more maneuverability and a wider variety of different truck boxes that you can go with without having any issue. Another thing that's really cool about this is just the fact that it has this durable powder coat on it that's gonna hold up against the abuse of being on the back of the trailer. 'Cause basically when you get products like this, it's all about having that peace of mind, so you don't have to worry about the component and you can focus on getting out there to your adventure.
