In this video, WIT’s Pooch Rivera takes a road trip from New Orleans to Knoxville to check in on Metro's latest kitchen makeover project. The team is partnering with the nonprofit organization Food4Vols, which collects unused food from the University of Tennessee campus and surrounding community to provide meals for students and local residents in need.

The goal of the makeover is to streamline the food distribution process and empower the volunteer-run organization to significantly increase their meal production capacity. Metro worked closely with the Food For All team to custom design storage solutions, labeling systems, and workflow improvements to make the operation as efficient and user-friendly as possible.

By the end of the renovations, Food For All expects to be able to prepare 500-600 meals per day, up from their current 350. But the impact goes beyond just the numbers - the redesigned kitchen will make it easier for volunteers to quickly access ingredients and assemble meals, allowing them to devote more time and energy to feeding the community.

The video highlights the collaborative spirit between Metro and Food For All, showcasing how strategic equipment choices and thoughtful design can empower nonprofit organizations to maximize their impact. Join us as we see this inspiring kitchen makeover come to life!
