Описание к видео Dancehall Masters - Dancehall Girls (Reggae from The Gambia)

Dance Hall Masters formed in November 1998 as a hip-hop band with the aim of educating Gambia's youth about the important issues of the day. The members of the band are Brother Coms (Lamin Fatty), Daddy Sam (Mame Balla Diouf) originally from Dakar. They were later joined by the dancer Mister P. Brother Coms was born in Serrekunda in 1978 and really got into reggae music just before leaving school in 1998. It was in the same year that he met his singing partner Daddy Sam which led to the creation of Dancehall Masters.

At the 1999 Gambian Rap Awards, Dancehall Master won the category award for 'Best New Group'. In October of the same year they released 'Brother Man' which urged the youth of The Gambia not to live in frustration and despair about their plight. In 2002 they won the prix de lintégration at the hip-hop awards in Dakar.
