Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the K-Source universal towing mirror. This is an extra large towing mirror that can be attached to either your driver's side or passenger side factory mirror. It is right about seven and five eighths, or just over seven and a half inches wide, and right about five and one eighth or just over five inches tall. This is going to stick out past your factory mirror to allow you greater view of your trailer or the road behind you, so you can more easily and safely change lanes or back up, pass or park.
So it's going to give you a lot more ease as you're traveling with your trailer, making sure that you can see your load, and see other vehicles before you make any lane changes or anything like that. It is adjustable, so it's going to have these rubber straps on here. These simply clip into place on the top, and they can be adjusted to different heights of your mirror. So you can see on our strap, we've got these different notches, so we can adjust these buckles up or down depending on what we need for our mirror. So it is going to accommodate mirrors of about four and a half up to 11 and a half inches. It can technically go down as small as two inches, but you're probably not going to have a mirror that size as your standard mirror.
So if you've got anything between that two, and 11 and a half inch range, it will accommodate. So not only are the straps going to hold the mirror to your mirror, but you also have these adjustable arms, which will adjust as well to make sure that you're getting a nice tight fit on your regular mirror. The rubber straps are also going to, not only are they going to hold this extra mirror onto your standard mirror, but because they are rubber, they're also going to help protect that finish. So you're not going to have to worry about chipping the paint or anything like that. It's going to create a nice, snug fit on your mirror so that you don't have to worry about as much vibration. If it we're looser, it would go around and might cause some distortion, but keeping it nice and snug like this, it's going to allow it to accommodate all sorts of different styles of mirrors, different ...
not only mirror heights, but also the shape of mirrors with this pivot arm here. So should be a good option for those of you who are wanting extra visibility while you're towing. The mirror face position, you can adjust manually. It's got a ball and socket design on the back here. So you just simply adjust the mirror to whatever direction you need so that it will give you the view that you're wanting of your trailer or of surrounding vehicles. It is a flat mirror glass.
So it's going to offer a large clear view. If you do decide to mount this on your passenger side, you may be used to having more of a convex lens to reduce your blind spots, but just having the extended mirror should do a good job of helping you to see what's behind, on either side. It does have black plastic housing and arms. So it's going to give you a nice clean look. It's not going to rust or corrode. It is plastic, but it is a pretty heavy duty plastic. So I would trust it. I don't think it's going to really cause any problems. It's not really going to be under a whole lot of strain. So I don't worry myself about it breaking when you're out doing normal use. To get it installed, it's going to be very easy.No tools are required. Like I said, just adjust the straps to the length that you need them, and then simply buckle them on top like that. The arms will fit onto your mirror. You can see we've got these little clips down here. So these will clip into the front of your mirror between your mirror and the housing to give that nice snug position, and then you just wrap the straps around, clip them into place, and you're ready to go. Not going to need any tools, or hardware, or anything like that. Now keep in mind, this is just a one mirror set. So if you're just needing the driver's side or passenger side, you only need the one, but if you're wanting driver and passenger side, you can just get two of the same part number. It can be used in either orientation for your driver and passenger side.It is about 14 and a half inches in total length. So it's really not going to take up much space when you take these off you're not pulling your camper or whatever it is that you're hauling, you can just store it under your bench seat in the back, or in your camper compartment somewhere w
