Historic. On 20 October 2021, after 118 days of lockdown in Sydney- COME FROM AWAY returned onstage at the Capitol Theatre (Foundation Theatres). Watch the curtain call of the cast, band and a speech by Producer Rodney Rigby, welcoming everyone back to the theatre.

HISTORY
July 2019 - The Australian premiere production of COME FROM AWAY opened at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne.
August 2020 - the musical was set to open at the State Theatre Sydney, but was paused as;
March 2020 - the world was plunged into a lockdown.
November 2020 - Sydney theatres reopened with covid-19 restrictions.
19 June 2021 - The musical opened at the Capitol Theatre Sydney. Playing only played two weeks of performances before the city was plunged again into a long lockdown of 118 days, with the rise of the COVID-19 pandemic cases.
20 October 2021 - After 118 days in lockdown, the musical reopens the Capitol Theatre Sydney.

This was filmed on 20 October 2021 by Elizabeth Partridge at the Capitol Theatre and June 2021 footage (the cast on opening night). Many of the original cast members opened Sydney and were to perform their final contracted performances on dates that landed in the lockdown and sadly weren't able to get their final bow. This video hopefully honours all cast, band, crew, creatives and producers of COME FROM AWAY and all at Capitol Theatre (Foundation Theatres) for their achievements and resilience during this time.
