The Duge Bridge also called the Beipanjiang Bridge, is a four-lane cable-stayed bridge on the border between the provinces of Guizhou and Yunnan in China. As of 2021, the bridge is the highest in the world, with the road deck sitting over 565 metres (1,854 ft) above the Beipan River. The bridge is part of the G56 Hangzhou–Ruili Expressway between Qujing and Liupanshui. The eastern tower measures 269 m (883 ft), making it one of the tallest in the world, although it is 74 m (243 ft) shorter than the 2004 Millau Viaduct's tallest pier.

The Beipanjiang Bridge on the Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway is located at the junction of Duge Town , Shuicheng County, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province , China and Puli Township , Xuanwei City , Yunnan Province. It is a highway cable-stayed bridge across the Beipanjiang River .

A bridge spans Yunnan and Guizhou, turning a natural barrier into a thoroughfare. The world's tallest bridge, the Beipanjiang Bridge on the Hangzhou-Ruili Expressway (previously reported as the Nizhu River Bridge, now named the Beipanjiang Bridge), with a vertical height of 565 meters, equivalent to a 200-story building, has been officially closed.


the bridge was officially certified by Guinness as the "world's highest bridge" and entered the history of the world record book. The bridge also won the Gustav Gold Medal, the "Nobel Prize" in the world bridge industry, in 2018.


As a famous large-span cable-stayed bridge, the First Beipanjiang Bridge has a total of 224 cables. The cables hidden in these white sheaths are only 15.2 mm in diameter, but the galvanized steel wire makes its tensile strength reach 4 to 8 times the strength of ordinary construction steel. These cables also use the most advanced anti-corrosion system. The sheaths and coatings made of special materials protect the cables from erosion by wind and rain, allowing the bridge to be firmly anchored on the top of the rocks. If a time limit must be added, the number given by the designer is at least 100 years.

　　北盘江第一桥位于云南省和贵州省交界处，跨越北盘江大峡谷，是杭瑞高速毕节至都格段的重点控制性工程。大桥全长1341.4米，主桥为跨径720 米的钢桁梁斜拉桥，在同类型桥梁中位居世界第二。该桥桥面至谷底高差达565.4米，相当于200层楼高。中国交建二航局负责大桥贵州岸施工，该项目于2012年开工建设，2016年12月29日建成通车。

杭瑞高速公路北盘江大桥，位于中国贵州省六盘水市水城县都格镇与云南省宣威市普立乡的交界处，是一座跨越北盘江的高速公路斜拉桥。

一桥跨云贵，天堑变通途。垂直高度565米，相当于200层楼高的世界第一高桥杭瑞高速北盘江大桥(此前报道称其为尼珠河大桥，定名为北盘江大桥)已正式合龙。

将于2016年建成的都格北盘江大桥，将超越以往所有桥梁的高度，第一个突破桥梁高度500米的障碍，并首次成为拥有“世界最高桥梁”头衔的斜拉桥。

地球上没有一个地方像中国西南的贵州省那样拥有如此之多的高桥。在贵州省内，没有哪条河流的超级高桥梁能比得上北盘江。北盘江，意思是“北部的曲折河流”自北向南流过贵州，将其分割为东西两半。两岸垂直的石灰岩峭壁如此之陡峭以至于一天中大部分时间阳光都无法照射到河面。沿北盘江平均每50公里就有一座伟大的公路或铁路桥梁，推进了中国工程技术的极限。

预计完成于2016年，G56杭瑞高速公路大型东西向主干道，经过无数险峻地形，使人们能方便的驾驶汽车和卡车到达临近的云南省。这条2935公里长的4车道高速公路起点在上海附近的杭州市，终点位于云南和缅甸边境，临近西藏。经过许多极端险峻的地形，不仅造就了位于贵州都格的世界最高北盘江大桥，而且在它西面不远处云南境内还有世界最高悬索桥普立大桥。
