Final Fantasy IX was a farewell to a transformative era in the series. Hironobu Sakaguchi took the helm and crafted a story that paid respect to everything that came before it while crafting a unique and heartwarming story that has stood the test of time as a classic.

They took chances here, putting out a game so late into the life of the Playstation, but they knew they had something special. Squaresoft invited the player to step away from the non-stop pulse of a rapidly accelerating soiety and slow down...to enjoy a story that was happy to take it's time and let you really immerse yourself in it.

Final Fantasy 9 was the last game of it's type in the series, as Square would end up merging with Enix not too long after and the franchise shed more and more of it's traditional roots. This is the story of my time with Final Fantasy 9...a game that I love (and at time hate)...but a story that I'll always hold dear.

Thank you for listening to my story with this amazing game. A story that went beyond just the game, as even creating this video became an adventure...a true FINAL Fantasy in so many ways.
