The investigation traced the cause of the fire to a coolant leak, originating from a component supplied by a single vendor within the battery pack. This issue, however, does not impact the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) due to a different battery pack design. Despite the recall, Nikola's hydrogen fuel cell electric truck production remains on schedule with Q3 deliveries planned. To ensure safety and optimal performance, Nikola is advising customers and dealers to keep the Main Battery Disconnect (MBD) switch "ON" at all times for real-time vehicle monitoring and to consider parking trucks outside for over-the-air updates
