Another Farming Mistake? - Hampshire Duroc Boar Piglet

A few weeks ago we purchased a new boar piglet to add to our pig herd. After we got that piglet home, we discovered he only had one testicle and was not suitable for the "job" he was recruited for.

Today we picked up a new boar piglet. This guy is a mix between a duroc pig and a Hampshire pig so we are adding some new genetics to our swine heard. But did we make the same mistake? Is it possible to get 2 piglets with only 1 testicle?

These boars will be an important part of our pastured pig operation where we will be breeding pigs.

Also we are setting up a new catch pen to take some pigs to the processor and moving our gilts into a new paddock away from our barrows.

Lots happening on the farm today.
