The instructions for building the Meccano Road Repair Unit were first released in 1949. It could be built using Meccano outfit number nine. The prototype was a diesel engine roller. I installed the Meccano Clockwork Motor number two from the prewar era into the model. The front roller was made from cardboard tube, deviating from the instructions.

The mobile air compressor unit prototype dates back to the early 1900s. According to the original Meccano instructions, the model did not have a motor, but I equipped it with the Meccano Magic Clockwork motor. The driller worker was adapted from the 1962 Road Digger Meccano model.
