It was the showdown for the Horse of the Year title when Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes winner Sunday Silence met Belmont Stakes winner Easy Goer at Gulfstream Park in the Breeders’ Cup Classic. Sunday Silence, ridden by Chris McCarron, got the jump on his in the stretch and held off the furious charge of Easy Goer to prevail by a neck.
