International law is an integral part of municipal or domestic law in many jurisdictions. Section 232 of the Constitution of South Africa of 1996 states that customary international law is part of South Africa's law. Section 39 enjoins courts of South Africa to consider international law in the adjudication process. States incorporate international law on the bases of two approaches, namely, monism and dualism.
