FAKE BEMS DEGREE SCAM UNCOVERED IN SURAT; 13 ARRESTED, INCLUDING 10 FAKE DOCTORS

A fake Bachelor of Electro-Homeopathy Medicine and Surgery (BEMS) degree racket was busted in Surat, Gujarat, leading to the arrest of 13 individuals, including 10 fake doctors. Police discovered allopathic and homeopathic medicines, injections, syrups, and fake certificates at the accused's clinics. The racket was run by Rasesh Gujarathi and BK Rawat, who sold bogus BEMS degrees for Rs 70,000. They had issued degrees, marksheets, registration certificates, and ID cards within a week of admission to over 1,500 individuals, some of whom were only 10th-grade pass. The duo also collected Rs 3,000 annually from degree holders for registration renewals. A raid at Rawat’s house revealed 10 blank degrees, 30 completed degrees, and documents of 1,630 "doctors" who received fake qualifications.
