Research at UAlbany: Exploring China's Migration Story

Professor Zai Liang, who has been promoted to SUNY’s Distinguished Academy, has explored the recent history of Chinese immigration within the United States and the fundamental changes in spatial settlement that have relocated many low-skilled Chinese immigrants from New York City's Chinatown to new immigrant destinations.

Professor Liang has achieved the highest designation of Distinguished Professor. The honor is conferred upon faculty members who have made significant contributions to the research literature of their fields and attained national or international prominence for their expertise.
