Lakes MTB - Four Passes 'Braking Bad' *WARNING CONTAINS EXPLETIVES*

Couple of big days out in the lakes on the Easter weekend and making the most of the better than expected weather forecast. First day decided to do the infamous and very tough 4 passes which I always say is the toughest 16 miles you are likely to do on a bike. Not done this route since 2020 in between COVID-19 lockdowns so was probably time to give it another go. Done this many times but the first time I have had an Ebike as company and wondered how it would go, a couple of the climbs are pretty horrendous and remember watching Adam Brayton give it a go on YouTube

All was going well until the traverse between Scarth Gap and Black Sail passes when I had a comedy off that for me wasn't very funny as I managed to snap my rear brake lever so this messed up the latter descents but at least I got to finish the ride (although I didn't have much of an option)

Getting back to civilisation would have been after the bike shops had closed so called in at Wasdale Inn after Black Sail and due to there being no signal in the area and the WiFi being temperamental, was able to kindly use the landline phone in reception. Managed to sort a replacement brake lever at Cyclewise Whinlatter who confirmed they could fit it the following morning (Easter Sunday) to keep me rolling so thanks to both and Cyclewise in particular you made my day if not my weekend 👏
