About Lee Trevino:
One of golf’s greatest ambassadors ever, Lee Trevino started caddying at the age of eight. He worked driving ranges and municipal courses before joining the Marines at 17 and playing golf with officers.

In 1967, A fifth-place finish in the U.S. Open earned him a spot on the PGA Tour, and he went on to become the PGA Rookie of the Year.

One year later Trevino stunned the golf world, winning the U.S. Open at Oak Hill CC in New York by four shots over defending champion Jack Nicklaus. It was the first of six major championships for the Texan, including two U.S. Opens (’68 & ’71), two British Opens (’71 & ’72), and two PGA Championships (’74 & ‘84), capturing 29 PGA Tour wins.

He later added 29 victories on the senior tour and amassed more than $19 Million in career earnings. Lee Trevino was inducted into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in 1974 and is retired and living in his hometown of Dallas.
