After missing my opportunity to film this elevator in 2012, I came back for my annual retake again in 2013! The hotel has changed names. It is now called the Sunscape Ixtapa (the old name was the Dorado Pacifico). The new owners have made improvements all over the property, and to a slight extent, the service elevator was one of them. The cab was cleaned up significantly since my last visit, and the lighting was fixed. However, it all went downhill from there. After an initially smooth start, the elevator pulled it's old stopping trick on the top floor. Then, the door closed and it wouldn't move. I tried pressing door open, and it didn't work! Eventually, I found a working floor and it headed back down. With the incredibly poor fixtures, terrible ride quality, a dingy cab, broken call buttons, and the inability to stop on many of the floors, this still firmly holds its place as the worst elevator I've ever found.
