Blossom Rock (The Addams Family) 1965 interview (Jeanette MacDonald's sister, aka Marie Blake)

Описание к видео Blossom Rock (The Addams Family) 1965 interview (Jeanette MacDonald's sister, aka Marie Blake)

This interview with actress Blossom Rock shows how down-to-earth she was, with similar speech patterns and sense of humor as her. She speaks candidly about everything except her age; she states she was born in the 20th century but in fact her birth date was 1895. (Jeanette lied about her age as well, claiming it was 1907 when it was 1903.) The two sisters were close and you can hear that in Blossom's affectionate reaction to being told they would play some of Jeanette's songs, when she says "Awww..." The second-to-last photo shown in this video is one of the last taken of her in mid 1977. The Eiffel Tower nightlight on her dresser is the one given to her years earlier by teenaged Sharon Rich, to whom she confirmed that Jeanette was in love with Nelson Eddy, and asked the aspiring young writer to tell the truth about her sister's life, as she didn't want Jeanette forgotten. Blossom had spoken about this to others but at that time, it wasn't deemed "safe" to write the truth as both Gene Raymond and Ann Eddy were still alive. However, Blossom did live long enough to see the basic facts printed in a magazine and the beginnings of the Jeanette-Nelson off-screen love affair told. It is because of Blossom Rock that contemporary sources first agreed to go on record.
