Is Elephanta Island worth visiting? We spent our last day in Mumbai visiting Elephanta Island. The island was full off garbage and over run with thieving monkeys. The caves were empty and you can only enter one. Overall we had a great day together but would NOT recommend the half day trip. The best part of the trip to us was the conversation we had with a lovely family we met on the ferry.
