Here I am working with a super young Golden Retriever puppies and an older Cream colored Golden Retriever dog. Both are in similar states of training. Imprinting tone response, association, decision making and self-capping.

Perfecting the use of tone and vibration for specific responses is the name of the game. Provide clarity, allow a "conditioned response to stimulus = dictated decision" - earn a paycheck, avoid a correction and like magic the dog thinks it's on his terms. Remember - logic and reason are human traits. If done just right the dog associates pressure both good and bad with behavior. In the end; conflict, tension, friction, etc can all be removed. Even from the hardest and most reactive of dogs.

In closing - there are many ways to do this, never be afraid to call a training audible and reassess. This is imprinting and conditioning - not the finished product.
