How to Get Confident Street Photography with POV | Fuji X in Camden Town

SHOW NOTES

To get the kind of confident street portraits or street photography that's going to stop people in their tracks we need to create a bit more time with the people we're shooting. For me what I want to do where possible is to hang out with the people I'm shooting on the streets. We need to find a way into doing that. Also, if you've photographed a bunch of people before don’t be afraid to return to the scene of the crime. I'm not really an anonymous street photographer. I'm not. The more people get used to me being around the more time I'll get get to create with them. If I'm in a hurry, hoping for the best, zipping in and out, my access is limited and my photography is gonna reflect that. The way to create little happenings with people is to invite them in and make it feel like a collaboration because when all said and done that’s what it is. These guys know me a little from having shot with them before. You know what ... people will either feel taken advantage of or they’ll feel included. It’s our job to make people feel included.
